CPR Training
Heartsaver CPR Course Length: 3 to 6 hours
The Heartsaver CPR Course is a modular CPR course that teaches rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for responsive adult, child, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. This program teaches rescue breathing with and without the use of barrier devices. This course does not teach the use of AEDs in adults.
Those with a duty to respond, such as employees in the workplace, daycare workers, baby-sitters, police, airline personnel, security guards; family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac arrest, other rescuers, and those who need or want to learn CPR.
BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Length: 6 to 8 hours
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen), use of an AED on adults and children, and relief of FBAO in respnovsive and noresopnsive victims. The course is designed for healthcare prviders who care for both in and out of hospital.
Target Participants: Healthcare providers, such as physicians; nurses; paramedics; EMTs; respiratory therapists; physical and occupational therapists; physician assistants; residents, fellows, or medical or nursing students; aides; patients in a wide variety of settings, and other allied health personnel.
